US Will Split by 2010

The Wall Street Journal carried a story today about a Russian professor, Igor Panarin, who for the last decade has been predicting the collapse of the United States in 2010. For a long time, there were no listeners to his prediction; now, the situation is a bit different.
Prof. Panarin, 50 years old, is not a fringe figure. A former KGB analyst, he is dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s academy for future diplomats. He is invited to Kremlin receptions, lectures students, publishes books, and appears in the media as an expert on U.S.-Russia relations.
Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar. Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into six pieces — with Alaska reverting to Russian control.
He based the forecast on classified data supplied to him by FAPSI analysts, he says. He predicts that economic, financial and demographic trends will provoke a political and social crisis in the U.S. When the going gets tough, he says, wealthier states will withhold funds from the federal government and effectively secede from the union. Social unrest up to and including a civil war will follow. The U.S. will then split along ethnic lines, and foreign powers will move in.
California will form the nucleus of what he calls “The Californian Republic,” and will be part of China or under Chinese influence. Texas will be the heart of “The Texas Republic,” a cluster of states that will go to Mexico or fall under Mexican influence. Washington, D.C., and New York will be part of an “Atlantic America” that may join the European Union. Canada will grab a group of Northern states Prof. Panarin calls “The Central North American Republic.” Hawaii, he suggests, will be a protectorate of Japan or China, and Alaska will be subsumed into Russia.

“It would be reasonable for Russia to lay claim to Alaska; it was part of the Russian Empire for a long time.” A framed satellite image of the Bering Strait that separates Alaska from Russia like a thread hangs from his office wall. “It’s not there for no reason,” he says with a sly grin.
Interest in his forecast revived this fall when he published an article in Izvestia, one of Russia’s biggest national dailies. In it, he reiterated his theory, called U.S. foreign debt “a pyramid scheme,” and predicted China and Russia would usurp Washington’s role as a global financial regulator.
Americans hope President-elect Barack Obama “can work miracles,” he wrote. “But when spring comes, it will be clear that there are no miracles.”
The professor says he’s convinced that people are taking his theory more seriously. People like him have forecast similar cataclysms before, he says, and been right. He cites French political scientist Emmanuel Todd. Mr. Todd is famous for having rightly forecast the demise of the Soviet Union — 15 years beforehand. “When he forecast the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1976, people laughed at him,” says Prof. Panarin.
I think its heading in that direction. Heres what I find a little more alarming. Why is this the split going to happen in June or July of 2010? How can you give such a specifc date? I thought I would toss that one out there to give it a look
I actually find it quite humorous that Americans are still so stupid. Iraq was sold to America as a “liberation mission” and then told that they had completed their mission. Only to have the same President that took them to war admit that there were no WMDs and they went to war on wrong intelligence.
Big T: It’s sad that you think its people like Joe that give America a bad name. What about your idiot President George W. Bush? Did he make America stronger?
And for those reading this article on a forum, you are cowards for not posting your comments here. I have read the 27 pages of crap that has been written on a forum using my article as the basis. But not one of those Americans has the guts to post their crap here.
And if you think that this Russian has it wrong, just watch I.O.U.S.A., a film made by the former United States Comptroller, explaining the true economic position of the United States. You have such a problem with a Russian saying this, maybe you will listen when you hear an American tell you how bad the economy is and where the United States is heading.
Joe if you know what OUR government is doing WHY dont you leave. Its people like you that give america its bad name in give people like that idiotic russian his ideas.
If any of you had the slightest idea of what the government was doing right beneath your feet, you would see the writing on the wall and get out.
absolutely LOVE what Mr. Baws has to say….there’s even some “reality” there!!
There is one massive error in this theory, as writer “Robert” notes above – broken states will NOT be submissive to foreign influence, much less rule. FIRST – Palin will not submit to Russian rule. That’s just the worst argument that a “Professor” could make. BLIND. Just plain blind. BIG NOTE – Texas will become a country of it’s own. Again. Then, along with every angry illegal immigrant that is fed up with the misgoverning of Mexico City, it will raise its citizens and take over Mexico. This will ensure that Texas has more than enough land, education, vacation spots and natural resources in agriculture to survive as the Republic of Texas. Again. California will also come under gay and lesbian influence and will join with Canada, as opposed to the Professor’s assumption of “Chinese” influence. Members of this Californian Union will then uproot and move to Canada after Calgary/Alberta are traded for So-Cal due to conflicts between liberals and conservatives in both areas. Since the US Government is being blamed for most of the issues in the world, Washing DC and the Northeast will join with the EU continue being the targets for international terror – as usual. Perhaps they will be intelligent enough to move Southward. The states bordering Texas and to the East toward Florida will petition the Republic of Texas to become member states and decisions on membership will be weighed according to those state’s voting record in previous presidential elections. Oklahoma will be the first target of the Republic of Texas and OU will quickly be captured, dismantled and turned into a septic and solid waste management complex. As for the Northern Central states, well, Canada can have the Tornadoes and Nebraska. Cornhuskers and all. It would be pretty interesting, either way. This is how it would pan it in reality.
Just a thought.
Ha, this is wishful thinking. Mr. Panarin has no understanding of American culture. The idea that the US would break up into segments, each willing to submit to foreign control, is absolutely ludicrous. American haters have long predicted the failure of this country and democracy, even as their own countries go up in flames.
